The following types of volunteers must complete the required background checks defined below:  Coaches, Directors, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with players.

There are 3 items total that are needed to complete the volunteer process.

1)  Child Abuse History Clearance
2)  PA Criminal History Check
3)  PA Affidavit Of Residency or Fingerprint based FBI Clearance

All Volunteer Applications are strictly confidential.  All forms and PA State Background Checks must be performed and submitted before the start of the season. The PA State background check is free, easy to do and usually the results are instant.

Pennsylvania State Requirements – 3 items required from ALL volunteers

1. Submit your request for a free volunteer criminal history check with the PA State Police and save the results (takes 5 minutes).  https://epatch.pa.gov/home
   Select “New Volunteer Record Check” and when asked enter “DubC NFL Flag Football” for the Volunteer Organization Name.
2. Submit your request for a free individual child abuse clearance report and save the results:  Child Abuse Clearance Request  Select an individual account.  The questionnaire is detailed and will ask for addresses and co-habitants back to 1975 so you may want to have that information ready before you start the questionnaire.  Results after submission take 1-3 business days and you will get an e-mail notification.  https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS/Public/Home
3. If PA Resident for the past 10 years, complete this certification form:  PA State Background Certification form
   OR – If not a PA resident for the past 10 years, register to be fingerprinted here.  Select Get Fingerprinted, then select Pennsylvania and click go.  Select Digital Fingerprinting.  You will need a Service Code to start the process so please obtain the Service Code from your corresponding School District. Once you register, go to one of the IdentoGo fingerprint locations with your driver’s license and have your fingerprints taken.  Call ahead to make sure they have a fingerprint technician available.  Takes 2-4 weeks after fingerprints are submitted.

*The PA State clearances are good for 3 years as long as there are no changes in your background, etc.
